# Quoted before you run.\ Billed only when it runs. A prepaid wallet in dollars, quoted exactly before every job, debited only on success. The provider bills you directly; Pauli charges one flat platform fee. ## How billing works - **One flat platform fee.** Bring your own [provider credentials](https://pauli.xyz/docs#byok) (BYOK): the provider bills you directly at its published rates; your wallet pays a 5.5% platform fee on the estimated provider cost, the vendor’s published formula on your circuit’s transpiled gate counts. - **Admission control, not overdraft.** An estimate over your balance is refused upfront (`402`); a `max_spend_usd` cap is re-checked after the full transpile, before any hardware spend. - **Exactly once, both ways.** Success writes result, ledger line, and debit in one transaction, database-enforced; a refund credits back the exact debited price, once per job. Any month exports to CSV. ## What’s always free - **Estimates.** The [public estimator](https://pauli.xyz/#estimator) is anonymous; `POST /v1/jobs/estimate` prices your own circuits, enqueueing nothing. - **Simulators with a $0 rate card** (account required): noiseless or calibration-matched noisy runs, billed $0.000000 on a real ledger line, the same integration path as hardware. - **Failure.** Failed transpiles, rejected submissions, cancelled-before-execution jobs, and provider errors are never billed. ## Refunds and wind-down Unused balance refunds in full to your original payment method on request; balances never expire. If Pauli ever shuts down, every unused balance refunds automatically with at least 30 days’ notice ([Terms of Service §5](https://pauli.xyz/terms#refunds)). ## Provider rate cards The providers’ published rates, live from the registry: what your provider bills you.
